Squadron Training

  • Regular Saturday morning boat crew training. | Rostered Crew | to report at base at 0800 hrs. on Saturday mornings.
  • Mid week and night training as organised by the Unit Training Coordinator.


  • Radio Operator Course. Bookings are now being taken at the base for a course. Next course 24th and 26th Aug 2010 inclusive and 9th and 11th Nov 2010 inclusive. A passport photo will be required on the night and a $10 reservation fee will be needed when booking a place. Cost to members $100 and Non members $120.


  • Navigation Course. Next course TBA. Cost for Active members Free, Associate Members $10 and Non members $20. Please bring a rubber and soft 2B lead pencil. Bookings essential. For further information contact Jim on 49721676| Try our online navigation trainer. |


  • Information Night . Next nights in 2010 are 19th Aug, 16 Sep, 14th Oct, 18th Nov and 16th Dec at VMRG base training room Flinders Parade

  • These nights are free to members and the general public. The format for the night is an introduction to VMR Gladstone and a local knowledge session conducted by one of the most experienced small vessel mariners in Gladstone Mr Jim Purcell.
