Squadron Training

  • Regular Saturday morning boat crew training. | Rostered Crew | to report at base at 0800 hrs. on Saturday mornings.
  • Mid week and night training as organised by the Unit Training Coordinator.


  • Radio Operator Course. Bookings are now being taken at the base for a course. These dates are subject to change please call Jim on 49721676 for confirmation. Dates for 2013 are a follows 21st and 23rd May, 20th and 22nd Aug, 19th and 21st Nov. A passport photo will be required on the night and a $10 reservation fee will be needed when booking a place. Cost to members $110 and Non members $120.


  • Navigation Course. Cost for Active members Free, Associate Members $10 and Non members $20. Please bring a rubber and soft 2B lead pencil. Bookings essential. For further information contact Jim on 49721676| Try our online navigation trainer. |


  • Information Sessions .

  • These are free to members and the general public. The format is an introduction to VMR Gladstone and a local knowledge session conducted by one of the most experienced small vessel mariners in Gladstone Mr Jim Purcell. The session are conducted at our training room at 268 Alf O'Rourke Drive If you have any enquiries you can give Jim a call on 49721676. The classes are on a 2pm Sunday afternoon on the following days in 2013; 24th Mar, 28th Apr, 16th Jun, 28th Jul, 8th Sept, 20th Oct and 1st Dec
     
  • First Aid and Fire Training Courses.   Check timetables at base.
