VMRGladstone call sign is VMR446. For routine calls, use VHF Ch. 82. 27 mhz frequencies are limited in range in the area and boatowners are urged to have a VHF radio. Have your VHF radio tuned to "International", not "US".
In the interests of boating safety, always log on with VMRG when navigating in our area, using VHF Ch. 82. You will be requested to supply your vessel name, registration number or VMRG member number as well as persons on board, destination ETR. Vessel over 10 M must contact Gladstone Harbour Control on Ch 16 before entering pilotage area. When departing our area, log on with the next region then log off with VMRG.
In conjunction with Water Police and Ambulance, VMRG also assists with emergency medical evacuations from offshore islands.
VHF Radios are available for hire for offshore camping parties. Inquire at the base.
Gladstone Marina can be contacted on VHF Ch. 82 between 0800 hrs. and 1700 hrs.
